At Kit Stone we harness the natural qualities of teak ‘tectona grandis’ to design our premier dining range.
The natural richness of oleoresin in teak, unlike other common hardwoods, repels the detrimental effects of the weather and prevents warping, splitting and cracking. This natural oil also precludes the need for manufactured oils or varnish and leads to teak’s overriding suitability for long-term outdoor use.
Harvested from Government controlled plantations, we only utilise the highest-grade timber, indicated by its rich dark colour. Freshly sawn teak has a beautiful and uniquely varied colour of grain, which, if untreated, mellows to an attractive silver grey. An annual scrub with soapy water, or a gentle jet wash, will maintain this character for life.
